GASGAS EC300 | Epic 2 Stroke SUPERMOTO Build

Duration: 11:16 Views: 53K Submitted: 2 years ago
Description: Every dirt bike enthusiast must have dreamed of getting a 2 stroke supermoto at some point of their lives just as we had. We finally had time early this year and kicked off our “The Dream Retirement” project. When Gas Gas unveiled their first EC line under KTM group back in 2020 we purchased one and filmed and unboxing & review video. Link; https://youtu.be/JVffO8qSrRM This very stock EC250 was ridden by Travis Teasdale during Sea to Sky Hard Enduro 2021 and made history by winning the Beach Race on Day1 and becoming overall P3 with a 250. Because it was going to shine on the street, we upgraded engine with 300 kit and used or 2023 bike as the organ donor. Scratched bits such as swing arm and fuel tank. We can’t thank enough to Mr Vural Ak and the Intercity Istanbul Park Formula 1 Track management for their hospitality. We were honoured to be their guest and used the pit garage for the installation part. To start with the conversion there are some vital parts to decide according to your preferences. Let us break it down topic by topic to you. RIDERS: Fatih Demircan: https://bit.ly/3CsYS1u Zafercan Güngör: https://bit.ly/3C0u5Yl İzzet Kazdal: https://bit.ly/3C54cqo 1. SUSPENSION COMPONENTS Every one knows that the WP XPLOR Forks that comes with the stock EC250 is a great one but that was not going to handle the street conditions. WP Suspension was kind enough to provide technical consultation on our project and advised us to go with their top-of-the-line XACT PRO forks and shock. I can not talk or write enough how great they are. XACT PRO 7448 Forks - https://bit.ly/3SyzXz2 XACT PRO 8950 Shock - https://bit.ly/3y97980 2. BRAKE COMPONENTS This is a must especially with a 2T one because you will not have classic 4T supermoto engine braking option. We called and discussed a lot with Rolf Verhagen at Moto-Master and his guidance was vital on the subject. For front brake, we mutually decided to go with Flame Supermoto Racing Kit. Here is the Moto-Master products that are on the bike; Flame Supermoto Racing Kit - https://bit.ly/3y9u0QN Flame Series Fixed Disc - https://bit.ly/3EaNs3J Fusion Dual Ring Rear Sprocket - https://bit.ly/3SO2ArF V6 Xring Chain - https://bit.ly/3RCNWTm 3. WHEELS, SILENCER and Cosmetic Bits Along with lots of great parts, Gas Gas Official sent us a set of Supermoto Racing wheel set out of their Technical Accessories. This a setup right for the bike but the problem was the front wheel was a 16.5”. We got in touch with their sub-contractor to replace it with a 17” but it was a dead end and decided to buy a whole new set from Haan Wheels. They were smooth, responsive and very fast. Here are the parts that we used from Gas Gas Technical Accessories; AKRAPOVIČ "SLIP-ON LINE" - https://bit.ly/3fAvPjB RENTHAL TWINWALL HANDLEBAR - https://bit.ly/3rmQf1V FACTORY RACING HANDGUARD KIT - https://bit.ly/3BYe6Kp FOOTBRAKE LEVER STEP PLATE - https://bit.ly/3BZ3D17 GEAR SHIFT LEVER STEP PLATE - https://bit.ly/3dXwRFF BIKE STAND - https://bit.ly/3C40yNt REAR WHEEL 5X17" - https://bit.ly/3fD4qgU FRONT WHEEL 3.5X16.5" - https://bit.ly/3UX0B6o SKDA Design - https://bit.ly/3EcMOTm --- HAAN WHEELS - https://bit.ly/3StjQD1 4. CLUTCH Because the bike was a veteran of a great race with a pro rider on it we had to change the complete clutch and plates of it. If you’re a Gas Gas fan there is only one brand that comes into mind, Hinson Racing. For European subscribers, they are available at Gas Gas Technical Accessories under Engine topic. 5 PIPE Ever since we saw the titanium TI pipe that 1744 Race Creation manufactures, we felt in love. Let me share their IG page so you can check it out and even place an order maybe; 1744 Race Creations - https://bit.ly/3M3eWu2 6. PEGS & CYLINDER HEAD S3 Parts has always been a great partner of ours and it was the same enthusiasm yet on another project. Their Curve line pegs were a great fit to the colour theme of the design as well as the red cylinder head. S3 Parts - https://bit.ly/3y8Ls8b 7. HEADLIGHT We worked with Visor Headlights back in last year on our enduro projects and loved the products but we were never experienced it on the street conditions. Visor Head Lights - https://bit.ly/3STEqMB 8. TIRES There are lots of brands who are manufacturing great tires for 17” setups and also experienced some of them in the past. For this bike we were offered to try ANLAS’s Viento Sport range and it cope the conditions pretty well so far.
