Description: ???? KART RACING WSK Open Cup 2021 round 2 OK Final - Adria raceway (Italy) This dramatic race was interrupted twice by red flags and brought unexpected results. © WSK Production The final of round 2 (Adria) in the OK class is marked by a bad accident on the 4th lap. Nicola Lacorte (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), 28th at that time, spins at turn 4 and ends up in the other lane, more precisely in turn 7. In the meantime, the group fighting for seventh position arrives and Eliska Babickova (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME) hits the back of the Italian driver’s kart. She crashes and experiences the tremendous bang and they both remain lying on the asphalt. Zachary David (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME) is also involved, but gets off his kart alone. Rescuers intervene promptly, while the race is suspended for two hours. Lacorte and Babickova are conscious and breathing independently, but are in the hospital for further investigation. David is also in the hospital. The race director imposes tire barriers at the offending point, to divide the two lanes. As mentioned, after two hours he resumes the race behind yellow flags and with 10 laps to complete. Tymoteusz Kucharczyk (Birel ART Racing – RK – TM Racing) did not miss the opportunity and, despite the third position before the interruption, took the lead and won with authority. Great performance, however, for Cristian Bertuca (Birel Art Racing – Birel Art – TM Racing): the Italian is fast and defends second position tooth and nail. Behind Bertuca, Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) and Arvid Lindblad (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME) fight for the championship, given the absence in the final of Joseph Turney (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) due to the failure of the engine in the pre-final. Lindblad, fourth, tries to overtake Taponen, third on the last lap, but the Finn closes and the Brit ends up in a spin. Taponen becomes WSK Open Cup champion with third position. Solid performance for Ugo Ugochukwu (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), fourth, ahead of a positive Flavio Olivieri (Praga Racing Team – Prague – IAME), fifth. Bruno Del Pino (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) is close to the Top 5, sixth, while Rafael Modonese (Praga Racing Team – Prague – IAME) closes seventh. Rintaro Sato (Ricky Flynn Motorsport – Kosmic – Vortex) ends the weekend in eighth position. Good recovery of 10 positions for Jiri Becicka (Parolin Racing CZ – Parolin – TM Racing), ninth, as well as for Matteo De Palo (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), tenth with 6 positions gained. Nikola Tsolov (DPK Racing – KR – IAME), one of the main spectators of the accident in the first laps, drops 11 places and is 15th. Ahead of him are Giovanni Trentin (KR Motorsport – KR – IAME), 11th, Nicolò Cuman (Forza Racing – Exprit – TM Racing), 12th, Jesse Alejandro Carrasquedo Parada (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin – TM Racing), 13th , and Arthur Rogeon (Praga Racing Team – Praga – IAME), 14th.
