Barbell Deadlifts are an excellent exercise to workout your butt, hamstring, and back muscles. They lift and firm as well as improve posture. But correct form is very important with this exercise. You most keep your back straight and sit your butt back correctly in order for it to work.
In this video Female Fitness Model Karen Kennedy is doing a Deadlift workout in the gym. She's doing 10-12 reps bent knee deadlifts followed by 10-12 reps straight leg deadlifts with a barbell. Then she's doing the same thing with dumbbells.
